Crain’s Chicago Business partnered with Best Companies Group to identify companies that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees. Winners were determined through numerous factors and a two-step process. The first step consisted of evaluating the company’s workplace policies, practices and demographics (worth 25% of the total evaluation), and the second step was assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to the company’s workplace (worth 75% of the total evaluation). The combined scores lead to the placement of the best companies with their final rankings.
