On Thursday, September 7, Avionos attended the Nominee Reception for the 2016 Chicago Innovation Awards, held at the Park West. This year is the 15th anniversary of this prestigious ceremony that comes together annually to celebrate the best in innovation from Chicago-area businesses. Members representing more than 600 firms joined on this night to recognize the nominees for the most pioneering products, processes, and services that originated in the region.
Avionos was particularly proud to see Bear Naked Custom Granola receive a nomination for their revolutionary website BearNakedCustom.com. This eCommerce-enabled website was launched in April 2016 after months of hard work and collaboration between Avionos and Bear Naked Granola. Powered by CloudCraze’s Salesforce platform, the website features IBM’s Chef Watson to help customers smartly select between a plethora of ingredients to develop their own, personalized granola recipe. Only with the correct suite of cloud technologies could this vision come together, and Avionos is delighted to have taken part in the design and implementation of this modern, consumer-facing website that is only beginning to collect its deserved praise.
In addition to Bear Naked Custom Granola, there were hundreds of other businesses acknowledged who had similarly impressive additions to the marketplace. Companies from every sector and industry were on-hand to commend all of the original products and services that have been introduced locally within the past year, which goes to show how exciting of a time it is in Chicago. Contrary to Peter Theil’s recent comments, Chicago has been producing some of the finest and most advanced innovations throughout the past few years and will continue to do so for decades to come, as anyone in the local digital community knows well. Avionos in particular is a testament to this fact, as we were born in Chicago just two years ago and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon…
